- Don't get me wrong; I'm loving FFXIII. It's just that sometimes they'll spend a whole long time talking at each other without really saying anything, and there are cutscenes for things like opening doors and climbing pipes that I'm pretty certain the game mechanics can take care of by themselves.

I think this game could have benefited from a good, solid translation team - I get the feeling the translators were probably Japanese locals (who may or may not have relied on Google Translate occasionally), as the dialogue seems very bland and kind of forced - not at all natural, nor engaging.

I also would have preferred a higher calibre of voice acting. I suppose Bioware have spoilt me over the years by offering up audio feasts, the pinnacle of which was, of course, John Cleese in Jade Empire.

But besides the linear gameplay; the hard slog of fighting the same fight over and over; and the grating vocals, I'm quite enjoying the game. I just got onto the third and final disc today.
