- Updates have been pretty lame recently. I apologize. In my defense, when you see what I've been doing instead of updating, I'm sure you'll understand why Totally Crossover's slipped down the priority list. I'm currently working on a super secret project of pure awesomeness - a new comic, to begin probably in September.
Hopefully this represents a return to at least a semi-regular update schedule, all because of a crazy dream. The other night I had a dream that I was sitting on my bed, surfing the web (I swear, that was all that happened in the dream), I figured my brain needed to kick things up a notch. The next night, I dreamed a new series of Firefly - except the crew was vastly different. There was Mal Shepard (I think Mr Reynolds had merged with the famous N7 Commander), his first mate was Spike from Buffy, there was Kreia, the rebellious guy from an old Mormon movie (here portrayed by John Marsden), Kaylee (from Firefly), her younger, dweeby brother (Disciple), Mal Shepard's dead wife Felicity (whose spirit lives in the heart of the ship and who guides their affairs from beyond the grave), and myself, who played the part of narrator, as a travelling writer looking for good stories (if the story were ever to become a movie, I'd want David Tennant to play me).
As soon as the epic dream concluded, I sat bolt upright, then grabbed a spare piece of paper and sketched out this unusual crew. Theirs, I decided, was a story that had to be told. So for the next few weeks, I'm going to do just that. I may disperse it between regular updates of TC (which I'm also working on) as the Real Shepard, Iron Man and the others travel to the barren, frozen northern wastelands in an attempt to find new transportation. It should be good.
